This was the second installation we created that day at Rust Manor, after everything had already gone a little sideways. Our original plan had shifted fast, our models had changed faster, and by the time we started this one, the energy in the room was looser and more instinctive.
Once again, we found ourselves working with our daughters—both sixteen, both unexpectedly brave—stepping into dresses that weren’t made for them and making it work anyway. By this point, perfection wasn’t the goal. Presence was.
This piece leaned into that feeling. A princess who had clearly just had a moment. A stumble. A laugh. A soft recovery. Flowers caught in her hair, branches creeping in through the windows, the outside world spilling into the library as if it had always meant to be there.
Nothing about this felt posed in the traditional sense. It felt lived in. Slightly undone. And honest in a way that only happens when you stop trying to control the outcome and let the day show up as it is.
