HOW ARE YOUR FLOWERS DIFFERENT?

​

Locally nurtured flowers are carefully harvested just before your event to perfectly suit its seasonal timing. Expressing the enchanting allure of freshly cut flowers is a challenge. When you compare homegrown blossoms to those transported over long distances in cramped containers, there's simply no comparison. We adhere to responsible post-harvest methods without resorting to harmful chemicals, ensuring you can enjoy their fragrance safely. Our cut flowers and arrangements are stored in a spacious walk-in cooler. Our flower selection is tailored to the Mid-Atlantic season in Northern Virginia, often featuring unique options like dahlias and sweet peas that are difficult to source through wholesalers. Our passion lies in cultivating those exceptional touches that add a unique flair to our clients' events, especially favoring heirloom species that are rarely accessible. Embracing the seed-to-vase movement, we nurture and grow these uncommon and exceptionally beautiful flowers. Our collection of blooms is extensive and continuously expanding on our farm. From elegant ranunculus to a diverse array of foliages, our flowers are anything but ordinary. We proudly align ourselves with the Farmer-Florist Collective, the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Women Who Farm, and the Slower Flowers movement.

HOW DO I RESERVE YOUR A LA CARTE FLORAL DESIGN SERVICES?

​

Rest assured, your order is officially confirmed as soon as you submit it through our website. It's as simple as that! Once you've placed your order, you'll receive a confirmation email from us, letting you know that everything is set. We recommend taking your time to decide on the items you'd like to order before proceeding. If you realize you need to add more items, you're more than welcome to place additional order(s). However, we regret to inform you that we're unable to accommodate any item substitutions or removals after an order has been placed, should you happen to change your preferences. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we're here to provide you with the best service possible.

DO YOU OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN?

 

Pay Over Time: As a complimentary feature, we allow you, our A La Carte customers, to Pay Over Time when more convenient for you. You will be charged every month, on the same date, for the duration of the plan you choose, 3 monthly payments or 6 monthly payments. You must pay in full by 4 weeks from your event date. Is this something you are interested in? Email us a complete list of the products you wish you order, include all product option choices. We will set you up with a Pay Over Time plan!

IS THERE AN ORDER DEADLINE?

 

Yes, our À La Carte order deadlines are set at 4 weeks prior to your scheduled pick-up date. This allows us ample time to ensure everything is meticulously prepared for your special occasion. However, we encourage you to consider placing your order as early as possible. Doing so not only guarantees a smoother process but also provides you with peace of mind knowing that your floral arrangements are secured well in advance. Our goal is to create an exceptional experience for you, and early ordering is a step towards achieving that. Your timely decisions help us make your event truly unforgettable.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

 

No cancellations, changes, or refunds on event orders will be allowed. Please place orders once you feel comfortable with your plan, no later then 4 weeks before your event. You can place an additional order(s) if you decide to add to your event plan. If your date is not listed under black out dates on this page it is available!

But what about situations that may occur similar to those during the COVID pandemic?

Force Majeure Clause

​

The Fertile Burb, LLC shall not be liable for any delay in services rendered, as well as, clients shall not be liable in changes to their event date due to circumstances beyond its control, including, but not limited to, fire, floods, riots, civil disturbances, extreme weather conditions, pandemic, control exercised by a government entity, or acts of God or a public enemy.

The Fertile Burb, LLC shall give written notice within three (3) days of the Force Majeure event, stating the period of time the occurrence is expected to continue. The Fertile Burb, LLC shall use diligent efforts to end the failure or delay and ensure the effects of such a Force Majeure event are minimized within our control. The Fertile Burb, LLC shall resume the performance of its obligations as soon as reasonably practicable after the removal of the cause. In the event that The Fertile Burb, LLC failure or delay remains unsatisfactorily uncured for a period of thirty (30) days following the given notice, the Client may thereafter terminate this contract upon written notice, and all payments made to date will be returned.

If your event should be postponed due to Force Majeure circumstances, it will be considered a termination of the date listed for pickup, and a new date will be given to The Fertile Burb, LLC, not to include blackout dates, when the event is officially rescheduled. All ordered A La Carte event products ordered will carry over to the new date as long as the new date is given within sixty (60) days of the termination of the original date and the new event date is within eight (8) calendar months of the original event date. After sixty (60) days, if no new date is given, not to include blackout dates, all payments will be considered nonrefundable and non-transferable. All postponements must be made in writing through email.

I DON’T SEE AN ITEM I WANT ON THE EVENT SHOP LIST? CAN I SPECIAL ORDER IT?

​

Regrettably, we are unable to provide extra items at this moment. Our selection has been carefully curated to encompass designs that we excel in creating frequently, and these can be safely picked up and transported by our clients. Kindly refrain from reaching out to request different or additional items. We acknowledge that our service may not align with everyone's needs, and that's perfectly alright! Should you be seeking a more interactive experience, there are exceptional conventional florists in our vicinity who might be better suited to assist you.

 

Keep in mind that if you find yourself desiring a wider array of options beyond our current offerings, we warmly invite you to consider engaging us for full-service events. This avenue allows for a broader spectrum of choices, catering to those who seek a more comprehensive event floristry plan.

 

CAN YOU DELIVER AND INSTALL MY ORDER IF I PAY EXTRA?

​

I'm pleased to offer delivery services for orders totaling over $1000. For deliveries, there is a transportation fee of $3 per mile, with a minimum delivery charge of $100. If you wish to opt for delivery, kindly place your À La Carte order first. We kindly request that you refrain from inquiring about delivery charges until after your order has been placed. Once your order is confirmed, you're welcome to email me with the delivery address, and I'll promptly send a separate invoice specifically for the delivery service.

Please consider assigning one person who will be the point of contact for your delivery outside of you, the engaged couple. At the time of delivery, all flowers will be unloaded from the vehicle and placed in a location reasonably distanced from the parking lot or unloading dock. Florals will not be arranged or placed in their final location as delivery does not include any set-up.

​

Furthermore, please be aware that our event installation services are exclusively available for our full-service event clients. Should you be interested in comprehensive event installations, we encourage you to consider our full-service offerings to ensure a seamless and all-encompassing experience. Your satisfaction and convenience are of utmost importance to us, and we look forward to ensuring that your floral experience is both exceptional and tailored to your needs.

WHICH FLOWERS ARE AVAILABLE ON MY DATE?

Our wedding and event flowers embrace the beauty of the seasons, ensuring that your occasion is graced with the freshest blooms, thoughtfully aligned with your chosen date. From the elusive specialty tulips and daffodils of spring to the enchanting peonies, garden roses, double lilies, and the grand finale of dahlias and heirloom chrysanthemums in the autumn, our floral offerings span the spectrum. Our repertoire boasts a diverse array of hundreds of flower varieties, each carefully selected to thrive in our local climate and perfectly harmonize with the time of year. Our designs come to life with the flowers that are naturally in bloom, always tailored to meet our clients' color preferences. While we strive to create your vision, please understand that the unpredictability of nature prevents us from guaranteeing specific flower types. HOW DO I CHOOSE THE FLOWERS FOR MY EVENT?

Rest assured, we've got that covered for you! Your color palette will be skillfully complemented by the blossoms thriving on our farm at the time of your event's harvest. Take a look at the earlier response for inspiration. Every flower we use is cultivated on our land, and their blooming periods may vary slightly from one year to another, influenced by shifts in weather patterns. While we're dedicated to crafting your vision, we refrain from guaranteeing specific flower varieties.

 

WHAT IF THERE IS A WEATHER DISASTER AND ALL OF YOUR CROPS ARE RUINED?

 

Rest assured that even on the rare occasion when unpredictable weather affects our crops, we're committed to ensuring the success of your event and your happiness. Our journey starts at our home-based farm, a cherished foundation. Yet, should our own plants face challenges, we turn to other trusted local growers. If the need persists, we explore the offerings of US-based flower farms that offer shipping capabilities. Thankfully, we've never encountered this scenario. However, as a final recourse, we're prepared to source from our regional floral wholesale distributor located in Washington, DC—the very source conventional local florists rely on. Please know that integrating purchased flowers under these circumstances doesn't impact the price. Your satisfaction remains our focus, and we're unwavering in creating a floral experience that exceeds your expectations. In addition, we actively contribute to our local farming community. We regularly purchase from other local flower farmers to ensure we can meet custom color palettes, cultivating a network of collaboration that enriches the quality and diversity of the blooms we provide. Your choice to work with us extends beyond a transaction—it's an investment in a community of artisans and growers dedicated to curating exceptional floral arrangements for your special moments.

CAN I ORDER YOUR A LA CARTE FLOWERS AS WELL AS USE ANOTHER FLORIST?

 

We ask that we be the sole and exclusive professional florist/designer for the event. Floral elements and table decorations provided or executed by a florist/designer/stylist/planner other than The Fertile Burb are not permitted. Do-it-yourself decor by the couple themselves is absolutely permitted and encouraged.
