Goodbye Flower Shares and Everyday Orders, Hello Blooms in the Burbs: The Club

What Blooms in the Burbs: The Club means for you

For years, Blooms in the Burbs has meant seasonal bouquet shares on set dates, plus the occasional one-off order when you want flowers outside of your share.

But I don’t do this work just to throw flowers at people. The heart of it has always been about letting flowers create connection, to your table, to the seasons, and to the community we’re building together. When I’m rushing to keep up with schedules, swaps, and one-off orders, it feels like those values get lost.

As our farm grows and our weddings expand, the old systems no longer make sense. Set dates for shares often collide with wedding weeks. Everyday orders add extra juggling in the middle of event prep. And behind the scenes, I find myself writing weekly emails and sending individual texts just to keep everyone updated. It’s too much to manage well, and it keeps me from giving you and your flowers the attention you deserve.

When this fall share season wraps, we turn the page. Memberships for the new Club will open in October and stay open for one week only.

INTRODUCING BLOOMS IN THE BURBS: THE CLUB

Blooms in the Burbs: The Club is now the only way to bring our flowers home outside of weddings and events.

Here’s how it works:

  • Claim your club membership once a year. Membership is $200, equal to one credit per dollar — roughly five bouquets to start, or two Thanksgiving centerpieces.

  • We send an SMS text. Whenever flowers are ready, you get a Club text with a link to order.

  • Use your credits. Apply them dollar for dollar to bouquets, holiday arrangements, and delivery if needed. Sales tax is always paid separately at checkout with your card.

  • Keep going. Once your credits are gone, you can still order at Club pricing. Bouquets are $36 each, holiday arrangements are listed at their regular prices.

Delivery is available too — $8 within 10 miles of the farm and $25 anywhere in Northern Virginia for holiday orders. Pickup is always an option.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The season begins in the winter with tulips and unfolds through at least 12 bouquets across the year, moving with the farm from early spring narcissus to late fall dahlias. Alongside bouquets, you can also expect a full range of holiday flowers — Thanksgiving centerpieces, Chanukah and Christmas arrangements, Easter and Passover florals, and Mother’s Day designs.

Once you’re in the Club, you decide how to use your credits. Five bouquets in spring? Two holiday centerpieces and a few summer dahlias? It’s entirely up to you. There’s never an obligation to purchase when the timing or need isn’t right. Credits last for one year from the date of purchase, so you have plenty of time to make the most of them.

STAYING IN TOUCH

Many of you have been texting with me directly for years, and that number still works for any personal questions or correspondence. But going forward, the Club uses a new SMS system for announcements. This means:

  • No more relying on emails that might get lost in the shuffle.

  • No more one-on-one texts that I struggle to keep up with.

  • Just a simple, clear text whenever bouquets or holiday arrangements are available.

And don’t worry, you won’t be getting a million texts from us. Only the ones that matter: when it’s time to order.

To know when Club memberships open, you’ll need to be signed up for SMS alerts.

WHY THE CLUB WORKS BETTER FOR BOTH OF US

For me, it means I can balance weddings, farm work, and flowers for you without stretching too thin.

For you, it means flexibility. No schedules. No reschedules. No missed weeks. Just flowers when they’re ready and when you want them.

And unlike before, there are no everyday orders and no set shares. Just the Club.
